As a nurse and retired Fire Captain Paramedic, I heard repeated stories from patients and families that I could no longer honestly dismiss. Different people described the same strange pattern at the edge of death. They said they came out of their bodies. They looked down on themselves. They were confused at first. They realized the body below was their own. They saw in all directions at once. Then the light came.

But not every story ended in peace.

That is part of why I wrote this book.

I did not want to write another soft, vague, comforting near-death book built on the idea that all spiritual roads lead to the same place. I wanted to write something more serious, more honest, and more faithful to what I heard at the bedside. Some stories were peaceful. Some were terrifying. Together, they forced me to confront the limits of medicine, the weakness of materialism, and the reality that this world cannot save you.

This book is about bedside witness, near-death testimony, mortality, and the only refuge that holds when the body fails and worldly certainty runs out.
